Justin Gannaway is a professional Costume Designer based in Kansas City. They have worked in academia as the Instructor of Theatre specializing in Costume Design at Drury University. They hold an MFA in Costume Design from Indiana University. In addition to their studies, Justin has worked as a Costume Designer at Tent Theatre, The White Theatre, Drury University, and several more. Notable designs include Bourgeoise Gentleman at Drury University, Hamlet and Pippin for Indiana University, and It’s a Wonderful Life: Live Radio Play for Springfield Little Theatre. They have also worked in the costume shop at Kansas City Repertory Theatre and the University of Missouri - Kansas City.

Justin is an artist as well as an activist who believes in the transformative quality of theatre and its ability to influence societal change. Themes dealing with gender, race, and the LGBTQ+ community are often featured in the theatrical work Justin takes on, and Justin believes in the ability of the costume to influence and enhance the performance as well as the themes of any work.
